Le Groupe Sincopa a été fondé le 1er mai 1994. L’objectif du groupe était de jouer tous les styles de la musique cubaine. Chaque musicien du groupe a étudié la musique dans leur province. Ils jouaient les musiques cubaines connues du grand public, mais grâce à leur inspiration ils ont créé leur propre musique.
